Beauty’s Birkin Gets an Update | New From Rouge Hermès

A seasonal update for the Birkin bag of beauty- Autumn-Winter in the Northern Hemisphere heralds the arrival of Rouge Hermès’ second Limited Edition collection.

A capsule collection of beauty objects joins the existing Hermès Beauty métier, each limited edition hue offering a variation on a theme- the rose. The shades themselves, as described by Hermès, echo the works of fine artists: “the silent perspectives of Charles Sheeler, the calm beauty of the still lifes and domestic landscapes by John Register and Arduino Cantàfora, the abstract compositions of Jean Hélion.”

Rose Ombré, a satin finish, light-filled muted rosewood, Rose Pommette, a joyful satin finish, vibrant wild rose in bright sunlight, and Rose Nuit, a cool-toned matte, velvety powdered pink, join the anterior Hermès Beauty manifesto of 24 signature lip colours and accompanying beauty objects- a lip care balm, pencil, lip enhancer and leather accessories.

As per both the permanent collection and limited edition predecessors, the new colours of Rouge Hermès are softly fragranced with sandalwood, arnica and angelica- a scent developed by Hermès Fragrance Director Christine Nagel  [read our interview with Christine Nagel here].

Aligned with Hermès permanent lipstick collection, each object sits at $94AUD- a considerable investment as far as lipsticks go, but a piece of beauty history.

An ongoing commitment to living as artisans of sustainable development, the Autumn-Winter Limited Edition collection is housed within refillable tubes- sustainable objects that can be replaced with different shades as seasons change.

This ephemeral curation from Hermès is available in Hermes boutiquesselected David Jones stores and online now.
