A brightening treatment from Budapest, scents from Paris and a concentrate from deep within the sea- these are the biggest beauty products to arrive on Australian shelves this month.
From Hungary arrives Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C, a serum formulated to boost the skin’s natural collagen production and protect the skin from the effects of free radical damage. Vitamin C itself has potent pigment-brightening properties, and this particular serum promises to deliver a brighter, more even complexion.
Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C, $168
A new oil joins the Sunday Riley portfolio this month in the form of UFO, an “Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil” (hence the acronym) designed to clear both blemishes and hyper pigmentation. Salicylic is the key ingredient here at a 1.5% concentration, a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) that works to dissolve bacteria and exfoliate from within the pore (as opposed to an AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid, that exfoliates the skin’s surface).
Sunday Riley, UFO Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil, $122.
April saw the launch of La Mer’s updated The Concentrate, featuring new packaging and the same potent elixir housed within. The original Concentrate has developed something of a cult following amongst those who believe in the healing powers of the La Mer collection (ie. me), containing a “concentrated” dose of the brand’s signature Miracle Broth- a sea-sourced potion heralded for its regenerative qualities.
La Mer The Concentrate, $530
A fusion of skincare and makeup, Juice Beauty’s Phyto Pigment Illuminating Primer contains Vitamins C and E to brighten and smooth the skin, while the most subtle of illuminating pigments work to reflect and diffuse the light for an almost “blurred” skin finish.
Juice Beauty Phyto Pigment Illuminating Primer, $55
Also within the realm of concentrated skin fixes fall the new additions to GlamGlows “Super” collection- the SuperToner and SuperSerum. The former is an acidic toner rich with the exfoliating properties of both AHAs and BHAs, the latter contains Hyaluronic Acid to boost the skin’s moisture content, and both rely on activated charcoal works to extract impurities and absorb blemish-inducing oils.
GlamGlow SuperToner, $64
GlamGlow SuperSerum, $99

While I aim to keep this column neutral and objective, my love for Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and Luminous Dewy Skin Mask is long standing and well documented- thus my excitement to see the brand’s Dewy Skin Cream hit Australian shelves. This cream is a richer alternative to my beloved Water Cream, giving the skin an instant dew and rendering the product’s name accurate.
Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream, $104
This Works released their Morning Expert trilogy last month, consisting of a mask, eye cream and serum. All three products harness the complexion-evening properties of Vitamin C, aiming to “wake up” dull skin of a morning and leave the complexion looking bright, hydrated and rested.

The limited edition NARS Lost in Lustre Face Palette dropped last month, boasting four warm-neutral eyeshadows across both matte and shimmer finishes, a pink champagne toned highlighter and a strawberry pink blush rich in shimmering gold reflective pigments.
NARS Lost in Lustre Face Palette, $75
For lips May sees the release of La Mer’s new The Lip Volumiser. This lip gloss is free from tack and wears more like a serum, rich in La Mer’s Miracle Broth- the aforementioned core of the La Mer collection. The Lip Volumiser contains a subtle pink sheen and works to smooth, soften and hydrate the lips with a subtle mint scent. It’s expensive as far as cosmetics go, particularly for a lip balm, but after a week of use (at the time of writing) I am hooked.
La Mer The Lip Volumiser, $155
A more accessibly priced lip product arrived in Australia last week in the shape of Olio E Osso’s multi tasking balms. Rochas Mademoiselle Couture, $100
April saw niche Parisian fragrance house Diptyque add two new scents to their candle anthology- Lys, a spicy take on fresh cut lilies, and Narguile (my personal favourite), a cocktail of honey, tobacco and spices.
