Palettes inspired by fizzy drinks, a green apple peel and a new way to cleanse. Here’s a look at the very best beauty products to land on Australian counters in the last month.
The latter months of 2018 saw NARS extend the shade range of their cult classic Sheer Glow Foundation, and this week sees the complete colour spectrum arrive in Australian stores. To accompany the new hues, the brand has also released an illuminating multitasker- the Super Radiant Booster, formulated to “amplify your sheer glow.” You can read a complete review on this combo here.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, $72, available via Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima.
NARS Super Radiant Booster, $46, available via Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima.
This month also sees the launch of NARS’ Skin Deep Eye Palette- a richly pigmented neutral palette spanning matte, satin, shimmer and metallic shadows.
NARS Skin Deep Eye Palette, $90, available via Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima.
A more accessibly priced palette option, the Desert Queen palette by Mecca Maxima’s signature line, Mecca Max, landed on shelves last week. An update on last year’s sellout Beauty Queen Palette, this iteration contains a whopping 15 (surprisingly wearable) shades for eyes and cheeks.
Mecca Max Desert Queen Palette, $38, available via Mecca Maxima.
Also in the realm of accessibly-priced-palettes-that-look-scary-but-are-in-fact-very-easy-to-wear is the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette- a mix of soft pinks and neutrals spliced with punchy lemon, strawberry and coral.
Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette, $28.95, available via Priceline.
The second release from Summer Fridays, the Overtime Mask, arrived in Australia this week, serving as the perfect predecessor to the brand’s debut Jet Lag Mask. Pumpkin enzymes work to brighten the complexion while apricot seed powder gently buffs away dry and dull skin cells, leaving the skin prepped and primed for a hydrating treatment- I’ve been following this up with the aforementioned Jet Lag Mask and it is HEAVEN (I try to keep News posts as objective as possible, but I couldn’t help but editorialise with this one).
Summer Fridays Overtime Mask, $67, available via Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima.
Juice Beauty hit Australian shelves last month, with the Californian brand’s signature Green Apple and Stem Cellular ranges receiving significant hype. While I am yet to try anything from the brand, I’ve heard particularly glowing (pun intended) reviews about the Green Apple Peel and Stem Cellular Overnight Cream. Worth noting that this brand is certified organic.
Juice Beauty, available via Mecca Maxima.
Omorovicza, a personal favourite brand of mine, are dropping seven products on February 26- the Instant Perfecting Serum, Rose Lifting Serum, Balancing Moisturiser, Copper Peel (this one is of particular interest to me), Instant Plumping Mask, Ultramoor Mud Mask (which you will have had a sneak preview of if you picked up the brand’s limited edition Mini Mask Set over the holidays) and a mask of a different kind, the Revitalising Scalp Mask.
Omorovicza, new products available via Mecca Cosmetica from February 26.
Last month, Charlotte Tilbury introduced us to a new way to cleanse- the Goddess Cleansing Ritual. This dual cleansing set includes a citrus based oil cleanse, formulated to melt away makeup, grime and surface bacteria, while a secondary charcoal cleanse extracts impurities from deep within the pores.
Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual, $64, available via Charlotte Tilbury.
This month, a Body Shop icon goes 100% vegan. The brand’s best-selling Shea Body Butter and Body Lotion have both been reformulated, while four new products have been added to the Shea Butter line- a pure, 100% Shea Butter, a Shampoo, a Conditioner and a Hair Mask.
The Body Shop Shea Butter range, available via The Body Shop.
