With a collection rich in earth tones, the Albus Lumen woman takes her beauty inspiration from terracotta pottery this season.
The look, created by Lancôme Australia Makeup Director Lara Srokowski, is all about the skin. “The inspiration was all about strong, empowered women,” Lara tells me.
“In the collection we see a lot of earthy tones, so the concept for beauty was all about terracotta pot making,” Lara says of the runway makeup. “We want the makeup to look as though she’s been making a terracotta pot and looking down while she works, so there’s a splash of terracotta across the high points of the face and across the bridge of the nose.”
A fresh, glowing complexion is a signature of Lara’s and of the wider Lancôme brand, so the terracotta splashes are teamed back with really beautiful clean skin. To achieve this, Lara applied Advanced Génefique to each model’s skin then used the Advanced Génefique device, utilising technology that Lara tells me “allows the serum to penetrate far deeper into the skin, giving you seven days of Génefique in the one application.” Lara only used foundation where she felt it was really necessary to touch up any imperfections or even out the skin tone, as “with beautiful skin you don’t need much makeup- it really is all about the skin.”
Subtle use of highlighter was key for the Lancôme team in giving the skin the right amount of dew, with Lara opting for the Lancôme Custom Glow Drops as her luminiser of choice.
Lara’s tip for the perfect finish? “Just before the models hit the runway, my little trick that I always do is to get a bit of Génefique and press it into the cheekbones to add a bit of gloss to the look but keep it looking like skin.”
